Week 6 Discussion

Color and Mood

How can 2 spaces with similar color schemes have 2 completely different moods?

6 comments:

  1. because of the different hues, shading, and light the mood of how we see color to accent that mood can be manipulated into really understanding what we view

  2. it depends on the colors, the shadows on certain objects. Where the light comes from.Maybe what type of day it is how he artist views the drawing when they are laying it out.

  3. Those comments are wonderful, yet probably not all aspects or multiple point of view are evident.
What about the specifics of how colors can contribute to different mind state? Red vs Green or Bright vs Pastel colors? What about symbolism like religion or cultural experience (purple- imperial analog, etc.)?
For example - a Melancholic feel can be achieved with what colors?

So, while the answers are very good, they do not reflect in depth specifics, point out to comparison or clear examples, etc. While a reader that is not dedicated to color arts can understand and get an idea, he/she can Not actually educate/learn/create a dipper understanding of the scope of COLOR-EMOTIONS relationship, background or psychology from those comments!
I know you can do better !

  4. What does COLOR SCHEME is ? What we refer to, why and how it's controlled by a digital artist/s? What about software - does it matter, etc. etc?

  5. it depends on the tones of the colors. (bright vs. pastels) romantic vs. elegant. romantic colors cam consist of red purple blue and orange in high color and hue. just by taking all the colors I n the same hue to a lighter pastel color it changes the mood to an elegant setting.
