  1. When painting your own texture you can definitely add more detail bring out certain colors in an object. Make the image look more real and make the image look more interesting. rather then using just a regular image you can sometimes tell when you just plopped a picture of a texture over your original image.

  2. Painting and overlaying allows you to control depth and detail at your own discretion rather than using someone else visual and angle of texture

    1. But if you used a texture to display a digital image how would it be masked?

  3. Well, here are several question as a direction to think about; Can you focus viewer's attention on a specific area of the image? Can you enhance the appeal or imply cultural aspects? How would color bleaching might be used? What about style or stylization? Digital painting and fine art skills vs. digital algorithms, software and technology capabilities?
There is a lot to camera, quality, media format and visual illusion as final output !

  4. I believe you can capture the viewers eye and actually make them look at certain images and textures with the use of color. Color speaks volumes and can make the eyes focus on what's important, for instance take a "Stop" sign or a yeild sign both play important roles in everyday life

  5. color bleaching has the ability to set a really old dusky mood. i.e saving private ryan. it can also give a aspect of cooler feel as in weather.
